Two Louisiana businesses claim titles at 11th Annual Boudin Cook-Off

The results are in for the 11th Annual Boudin Cook-Off.

Johnson’s Boucaniere, of Lafayette, took first place in the specialty boudin/unlinked boudin category with their pork belly and boudin ball slider with garlic/green onion aioli. They also came out on top in the traditional pork boudin category.

Boudin by Jamison and Specialities, of Plaquemines Parish, won People’s Choice.

The event was held Saturday at Parc Sans Souci in downtown Lafayette where dozens sampled an array of boudin from across Louisiana before the two winners were chosen.

There was also other food and drinks available for purchase.

The complete list of winners is below:

Specialty Boudin/Unlinked Boudin:
1st – Johnson’s Boucaniere, Lafayette, LA, pork belly and boudin ball slider with garlic/green onion aioli
2nd – Chop’s Specialty Meats, Broussard, LA, boudin lasagna
3rd – Ronnie’s Boudin and Cracklin, Baton Rouge & Hammond, LA, boudin kolache with pepper jelly and pepper jack boudin and seasoned cracklin crumbs

Traditional Pork Boudin:
1st – Johnson’s Boucniere
2nd – Bourgeoise Meat Market “Miracles in Meat,” Thibodaux, LA
3rd – Billeaud’s Grocery, Broussard, LA

People’s Choice:
1st – Boudin by Jamison and Specialties, Belle Chase, LA
2nd – Johnson’s Boucaniere
3rd – T-Jim’s Grocery, Cottonport, LA
