The Lafayette Animal Shelter will be open this Saturday for their Second Chance Saturday adoption event.
Dogs, puppies, cats and kittens will be up for adoption at the event which is open to the public. The animals are all spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Fees for adoption are $35 for dogs and puppies and $25 for cats and kittens.
Fees will be waived for military veterans with IDs and those over 65 years of age.
The event will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Animal Shelter and Care Center located at 613 W. Pont Des Mouton Rd.
LASCC says that recent adoption events have seen a total of 57 animal adoptions and seven rescues.
Regular adoption hours for the shelter are 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
