One man is in custody following a stabbing that left one person injured in downtown Lafayette.
The stabbing happened on Jefferson Boulevard near the Downtown Lafayette sign. Police arrived shortly after 5:39 p.m. and found a 31-year-old man with a stabbing wound to his upper body.
He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Police say 31-year-old William Jenkins used a box cutter to stab the victim.
Jenkins was located and questioned before being arrested.
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center with aggravated battery.
