The Acadiana Planning Commission is looking back at the history of the University Avenue Corridor with some help.
The group held their Four Corners Neighborhood Voices event today at the Bridge Ministry of Acadiana where members of the group met with those interested in learning and sharing about the area’s history.
Prior to the event, the group accepted historical items in relation to the University Avenue Corridor from the public to be presented.
Organizers say they want to preserve the history for future generations.
“You have your younger generation, and you have a very older generation, and we want them to be able to learn from each other. We are using various forms of technology to capture the information today, so it’s not just collecting that historical information, but it’s also connecting various generations,” said Deidra Druilhet, communication manager with the Acadiana Planning Commission.
