Corporal Michael Middlebrook was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
The award honors officers and law enforcement personnel who were killed in the line of duty. Thursday, Middlebrook was one of five fallen officers who received the Medal of Honor.
Lieutenant Sean Anderson, Deputy Justin Beard, Officer Michael Louviere and Officer Marcus McNeil were also honored at the ceremony. All were killed in the line of duty in 2017 in Louisiana.
