If you’re looking for something to do today, look no further!

Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park and the Bayou Teche Museum are opening their doors for free from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 14th annual Museum Day.

All you have to do is download your free ticket at Smithsonian.com/MuseumDay. Each ticket admits two people.

The idea behind Museum Day is to mimic the free admission policy at the Smithsonian Institution’s museums in Washington, D.C.

The theme of this year’s Museum Day is Women Making History, honoring women in society who are trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation, and culture and inspiring others to be pioneers as well.

Share your Museum Day experience on social media by using @MuseumDay, #MuseumDay, #WomenMakingHistory.

Vermilionville is located at 300 Fisher Road in Lafayette.

The Bayou Teche Museum is located at 131 E Main Street in New Iberia.
