The Lafayette Police Department says a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on Lafayette Street was arrested in the State of Washington.
Police arrested 26-year-old Brent Johnson on Thursday for the homicide which occurred September 6, 2018, on the 300 block of Lafayette Street.
39-year-old Jason J. Carbins died as a result of that shooting. Read more here.
Johnson was apprehended in Auburn Washington with help from the United States Marshals Service of Tacoma Washington, United States Marshals Service Violent Offender Task Force Louisiana and the Lafayette Police Department Special Investigations Unit.
Johnson will be booked in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the active warrant for second-degree murder after extradition.
