Carnival of Life brings awareness to suicide prevention

Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems is hosting the Carnival of Life to help raise awareness for suicide prevention.

The event, held at the UL Alumni Center will feature food, games, prizes, and music. Resources and information will be available for those who attend to answer questions about suicide, depression, and more.

September is suicide prevention month.

Donations at the event go to 232-HELP and the local suicide hotline.

The carnival of life continues on until 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Today, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is hosting a meeting to discuss a suicide prevention walk in Youngsville in November.
