SLCC offers “Know Your Rights” session

The Student Government Association at SLCC hosted a “Know Your Rights” session today at the college on Devalcourt Drive in Lafayette.

Students were able to ask questions of a panel containing law enforcement officers, attorneys and civil rights activists.

“We want them while they’re students here and also when they leave us after they graduate… we want them to be successful members of society and feel safe and like they walked away from SLCC not only with a content education but also having grown in terms of their personal development,” said Brittany Renard, assistant director of student engagement at the school.
