If you park in the Buchanan Street Parking garage near the Lafayette Parish Courthouse you’ll have to take the stairs.
The elevator is out of service and there’s no timetable on when it will be repaired.
Councilman Kenneth Boudreaux says the city is considering possibly buying the garage from the parish.
Customers of the garage say repairs are needed immediately.
“Like I said, going up the flights is kinda rough,” said James Ledet, Lafayette resident “When you get to the fourth, fifth floor, it is breathtaking.”
