JENNINGS, La. – After several months of discussion, an ambulance permit application submitted by Med Express Ambulance Service was approved by the Police Jury in an 11-1 vote on May 8, 2019, according to a press release from MedExpress Ambulance Service.
Med Express will station ambulances in Jennings and Elton initially and will review demands over the next several months to determine where additional resources can best service the community. The Jennings office is located at 107 S. Lake Arthur Blvd, Suite 12.
Med Express has a partnership with the Air-Evac LifeTeam helicopter ambulance stationed in Kinder. Air Evac is a national provider of air ambulance services and works closely in other rural parishes in Louisiana with Med Express.
The projected start date is May 27th. Logistical details with Jeff Davis 911 are being coordinated with Med Express. The 15 employees who will serve this area are being hired and oriented, many who are from Jeff Davis Parish, stated in the release.
