A Jeff Davis Parish fugitive wanted on domestic-related charges is in custody.
An off-duty deputy was notified that 31-year-old Gregory Bonnette, of Roanoke, was seen at the Walmart in Jennings Thursday night.
Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s deputies later located the suspect and subsequently arrested him.
Bonnette was booked into jail on charges of contempt of court on child support, theft, violation of a protective order, battery of a dating partner and false imprisonment.
According to the sheriff’s office, the charges stem from an incident that happened on January 21.
Deputies responded to disturbance call on Compton Road in Jennings.The victim reported Bonnette was holding her against her will and threatening her life, the release states. Deputies say a witness reported Bonnette forcefully pinned the victim to the ground before they arrived.
This marks Bonnette’s sixth arrest in the last two years, the release states.
Bonnette is being held with no bond.
