First responders receive numerous false alarm calls in Jeff Davis Parish

First responders are getting more false alarm calls in Jeff Davis Parish.

According to the sheriff’s office, only two calls out of 557 this year were valid.

Officials say they treat every call as an emergency but the false alarms are costing them money and resources.

“Naturally we’re going to respond to any and all calls that we receive regardless of the cause we’re going to give it our full attention to make sure it’s not a genuine emergency and by taking extra precautions this is just going to help us use our resources wisely,” said Aubry Broussard with the Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office.
