Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) is raising money to help domestic abuse victims in Jeff Davis Parish.
Tuesday evening, CADA held its Taste and Tell event where attendees had a chance to sample dishes made by local teams.
Proceeds from the food tasting and auction event will fund the group’s shelter for battered women and children.
The event Tuesday evening included 18 teams composed of area businesses and elected officials. Food in five categories including appetizers, entree and desserts was prepared by those teams.
“We definitely reach out to women who feel like they have nowhere else to go. We get them back on their feet. We love what we do,” said Lacy Guidry with CADA.
