Officers located a white male in the area identified as Cory Wayne Lejeune. Lejeune did not match the original description given by the caller, according to police.

Lejeune allegedly advised officers where he was staying and Lejeune was allowed to continue walking. Officers viewed the surveillance footage and observed the suspect to match Lejeune’s description. Officers located an airsoft gun, a bandana, $122 in cash, sunglasses, and gloves at a nearby church.

Officers say they later located Lejeune and he was arrested on outstanding warrants.

Lejeune was questioned about the incident at EZ Mart and allegedly confessed to the robbery. Police say Lejeune admitted to leaving the money and other items at the church. He was later transferred to Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office on his outstanding warrants and armed robbery.
