The McIlhenny Company, makers of Tabasco Sauce and Tabasco Brand products, has a new CEO and President.
According to The Advocate, on Monday the company named Harold Osborn, Tabasco creator Edmond McIlhenny’s great-great-grandson, as head of the company.
A release on the announcement was expected Monday.
Osborn will take over the role from Anthony Simmons who is retiring after 19 years with the company.
Started in 1868, Tabasco is said to be one of the oldest family owned and operated companies in the United States.
Tabasco Pepper Sauce is created at Avery Island which is just south of New Iberia. According to The Advocate, the company employs around 240 individuals and is privately owned by 130 family members as shareholders.
