On Monday, the water will be shut off for customers of Waterworks District #3 in Iberia Parish from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as workers make repairs to the distribution pumps at the water plant.
Customers need to expect either a temporary shut-off or low water pressure. They are asked to prepare by storing drinkable water.
Once water is restored, customers will be under a boil advisory until further notice as a precautionary measure.
Water samples will be sent to the Louisiana Department of Health. Once samples are cleared for safety, the advisory will be lifted.
When under a boil advisory, water must be boiled for one full minute before consuming or using it in food preparation.
