The New Iberia Fire Department says they responded to an apartment fire today on Center Street.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 12:05 pm Monday to an apartment fire at 415 Center Street.
All residents of the three-story building were evacuated while firefighters put out the fire. The fire originated in an apartment located on the second floor, according to officials.
The complex, School Days Apartments, is for people 55 years of age or older. It is located in the old New Iberia Senior High school building.
