Funeral for man killed in Iberia Parish crash to be held today

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on tonight for Isaac Romero, 23, who died in a car crash on Sugar Mill Road in Iberia Parish on Saturday night.

The mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2409 Coteau Road in New Iberia. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Romero is survived by his father, Craig Romero, a former state Senator and Iberia Parish President who now serves as director of the Port of Iberia; and his mother, Pamela Hulin Romero; his girlfriend, Haley Guilberteau of New Iberia; two brothers, Nicholas Landry and wife Mariaya of Coteau and Jacob Romero of New Iberia; four sisters, Hannah Romero of New Iberia, Sarah Mule’ and husband Millard of Baton Rouge, Bethany Sapienza and husband Nick of Lafayette and Danielle Mestayer and husband Avery of Broussard; nieces and nephews, Godchild Annie Landry, Betty Landry, Harold Landry, Amelie Bergeron, Rosalie Mule’, godchild Maximilian Mule’ and Noah Sapienza; numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
