Mosquito abatement operations to take place in Iberia Parish

The Iberia Parish Mosquito Abatement District will conduct aerial operations in certain areas of Iberia Parish starting tonight and every evening until Friday, August 10.

Operations will be conducted tonight,  August 8 in Jeanerette and Hubertville, Thursday, August 9 in Laurent and Friday, August 10 in Delcambre and Rip Van Winkle.

The district says that hypersensitive individuals and those wishing to avoid any exposure to chemicals used in aerial operations should remain indoors. All other citizens can continue with normal outdoor activities.

During operations, citizens will notice low flying aircraft. The district asks that residents not attempt to follow the path of the aircraft as it flies overhead.

The following areas will be affected by aerial operations:

Wednesday, August 8: Jeanerette and Hubertville – specifically Little Valley Rd., Alta Dr., Cora Ln., Hubertville Rd., Linden Rd., E. Hwy 90 and all points in between.

Thursday, August 9: Laurent – Rynella, Weeks Island Rd., John Lewis Rd., the Port of Iberia, Darnall Rd., R. Ronsonet Rd. and all points in between.

Friday, August 10: Delcambre & Rip Van Winkle – operations will focus in Delcambre, specifically south of Lake Peigneur, R. Esponge, Bob Acres, Longside Rd., Andras, BJ Estelle Dr., Avery Island Rd., Segura Rd. and all points in between.
