The Evangeline Parish School District treated its teachers to an end of the year bash on Tuesday.
The “Landing Party” was the very first hosted by the school district for all employees. The event coincides with the “Launch Party” was held to kick off the school year last August.
“I hope they realize that we do value the work that they do, that education is a noble profession and that they do impact the lives of students,” said Superintendent Darwan Lazard. “We just want them to know that this is in appreciation for them.”
School Board employees were treated to a crawfish boil and hamburgers at Mamou Elementary School. Steve Riley was on hand to provide entertainment for the event.
The School Board says that they plan on hosting a “landing party” each year.
