Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine provided an update to residents following the tornado and storms that moved through the city on Sunday

Vidrine says that Cleco has fully restored power to the entire city and the curfew has been lifted.

No emergency food stamps were administered according to Vidrine because the damage to the city did not meet the national disaster criteria of $6.2 Million. Vidrine says she is still working to get more information on food stamps

Friday at 8:00 a.m., supplies will be distributed to residents at the Girls-Boys Place, 220 S. Thompson in Ville Platte. Residents are asked to stay in their vehicle while supplies are disseminated.

Supplies will be given out until they run out. More will be distributed at a later date, according to Vidrine

Vidrine reiterated that no lives were lost during the tornado that hit the city. She also thanks residents for their cooperation.
