The National Weather Service is sending a crew to Evangeline Parish to determine if this morning’s damage was caused by a tornado.
When a tornado is suspected, NWS scientists review data collected and observations and interviews on the ground to determine if it was a tornado, and if so which category the tornado was.
They should be in Evangeline Parish this afternoon, officials say.
