Cashier Autumn Blood says she sold a winning $50,000 dollar ticket to one of her regular customers at Murphy USA.
“The man came Friday and I didn’t believe him,” Blood said. ” I mean this is Ville Platte, I was like people just talking, but it was true.”
Assistant manager Joshua Fontenot said, “No it’s definitely not common at all! ”
Workers are still in disbelief, that not one but two winning tickets sold in such small area.
“Well for $50,000 I know I’d be excited,” Fontenot said. “I’d be ready to go on vacation!” He added, “I’m just happy to hear that someone from Ville Platte won.”
While the stores get a percentage from the winning tickets, workers are hoping this publicity could bring even more green.
“I hope more people come buy tickets here,” Fontenot said. ” Come to our station and see how friendly and good luck we are here. I’d like to think we’re all a good luck charm.”
