A man Basile Police say was wanted for attacking his former girlfriend has been arrested.
Police arrested 41-year-old Jeramie Brown after two alleged attacks against his former girlfriend.
According to Basile Police, the first incident happened on February 12, 2019. The victim identified herself as the former girlfriend of Brown. She told police that Brown had attacked her inside her home and fled out of the house to a nearby wooded area.
As a result of the attack, the Basile Police Department filed domestic abuse battery charges as well as unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling against Jeramie Brown. It was also learned that State Probation and Parole also had several warrants for Jeramie Brown.
Brown then went into hiding, allegedly calling and threatening the victim numerous times until February 19, 2019, when the victim was again attacked by Brown outside her home, according to police. Brown again fled into the woods.
The Officers were not able to continue the pursuit because of unfavorable weather.
On February 25, 2019, St. Landry Sheriff’s Department Crime Stoppers, contacted the Basile Police Department and advised that Crime Stoppers had received a tip as to the whereabouts of Jeramie Brown.
Brown was apprehended on Monday, February 26, 2019.
