Tuesday night, trick or treaters visited Heritage Manor in Ville Platte for some Halloween treats.
Tonight the resident home in Opelousas welcomed children to trick-or-treat door to door and visit. Last year residents gave out candy to over 300 children.
Hundreds came out to rake in the candy but to also spends some time with the residents.
The event is put on in association with Ville Platte Police to create a safe environment for children to trick-or-treat.
Earlier this week, the manor requested that candy be donated so that residents would have something to give to the children.
“We are having our third annual community trick or treat in association with the Ville Platte police department we started it three years ago and its a safe event for our children and for our residents that still participate in community events so it been a win-win for everybody concerned,” said Trey Prudhomme, administrator with Heritage Manor.
