A post-disaster recovery group working in the area on Saturday discovered and rescued a four-legged Acadiana resident.
A team member of Marco Patriots who was assisting in Abbeville found a puppy under a section of metal roof that was "battered and shorn" and laying in the middle of a roadway. The group says no family was around (canine or human) so Marco Patriots volunteers are caring for the puppy.
Fortunately, the group said on Twitter, one of their rescuers is a dog expert.
They named her Delta Dawn.
The group has since found other animals during their post-Delta recovery efforts. Follow them on Twitter @MarcoPatriotsHQ for more.

This time it's a newborn puppy.
Good thing one of our rescuers is a dog expert.
We're naming him Delta.
