Senator Bill Cassidy plans to visit Lake Charles on Thursday and tour the storm damage there.
Cassidy will also fly over and then go on the ground to see other affected areas.
The senator and his staff are answering frequently asked questions on his Facebook page and website.
He says many of those questions are about FEMA benefits.
"For example, one question we get: If you have homeowners insurance, could you still qualify for FEMA individual assistance? And the answer is: You might. We have different criteria by which you might, and our case workers are there to help if you feel like you should but you're not," Cassidy explained.
