LAKE CHARLES, La. – A child drowned in a pool Thursday night in Calcasieu Parish.
On June 20 at 8:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a community pool at a mobile home park off Gulf Highway in Lake Charles in reference to a possible drowning.
When deputies arrived they were informed a four-year-old boy was found at the bottom of the swimming pool, according to Kim Myers, spokesperson for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were advised the boy had been at the pool with family members.
Life saving measures were performed on the boy until emergency medical personnel arrived, at which time he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Myers stated.
