A Texas man was arrested in Calcasieu Parish following multiple incidents of credit card fraud at two local casinos.
34-year-old David Allen Hass of Texas was arrested after troopers say he made multiple transactions from a private company credit card. Hass was employed by that company during the time of the transactions.
The initial report of credit card fraud was filed by the company stated that Hass used a company credit card assigned to him, to make three cash advance transactions from an ATM located at a local casino in March. Those cash advance transactions were allegedly totaling over $14,000.
In May of 2019, Hass allegedly attempted to make four cash advance transactions at an ATM machine located at another casino, but the transactions were declined.
Troopers were able to locate Hass sitting at a slot machine located in the high limits area within the casino. Hass’s identity was confirmed by using surveillance footage obtained from an ATM where the cash was obtained.
During questioning, Troopers say that Hass admitted to making the transactions and the attempted transactions at both ATM locations.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on 3 counts of credit card fraud and 4 counts of attempted credit card fraud.
His bond was set at $100,000.
