Carencro man arrested following alleged high-speed pursuit

A Carencro man has been arrested after police in Lake Charles say he led them on a high-speed pursuit that ended in Sulphur.

An officer with the Lake Charles Police Department was working a detail on I-210 near MM3 when he says he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed at around 9:00 pm.  The vehicle’s speed was allegedly registered at 84mph in a 45mph speed zone.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver identified as, 52-year-old, Rickey Jeanise allegedly refused to stop.

A pursuit ensued and with the assistance of the Sulphur Police Department, the vehicle came to a stop on Ruth Street in Sulphur.

Jeanise was arrested without incident for Reckless Operation, Driving while intoxicated 6th offense and Flight from an officer.  He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. His bond is set at $28,000.
