Sulphur Police have arrested a Mooringsport man and booked him on multiple child sex charges.
Jonathan Tarver, 33, was booked with one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile under 13, one count of pornography involving juvenile under 13, and one count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor under 13. The investigation is still ongoing in which Tarver may later be charge with additional charges.
On Monday, March 25, 2019, the Sulphur Police Department was notified of a sex offense regarding a juvenile under the age of 13.
During the investigation, Sulphur Detectives discovered the juvenile allegedly was in contact with a 33-year-old male who Detectives identified shortly, after learning of the sex offense, as Jonathan Tarver of Mooringsport, Louisiana.
Detectives learned the juvenile was using an online social media app called MeetMe. After completing forensics search of the cell phone, Detectives discovered Tarver allegedly was soliciting the juvenile for explicit photographs of her.
Detectives contacted the Attorney General’s Office for assistance. On March 26, 2019, Sulphur Police Detectives, AG investigators, the U.S. Marshals Office, Bossier City Marshals Office, Caddo Parish Sheriff Office, Louisiana State Police, and Home Land Security (HSI) executed a search warrant at Tarver’s residence in Mooringsport. Tarver was arrested, booked in at the Caddo Parish Jail and later transported to the Sulphur City Jail on a $100,000.00 bond.
