CPSO arrests man for negligent homicide

At 7 a.m. Saturday morning, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Highway 90 East in Lake Charles in reference to an unresponsive man in the home.

When deputies arrived, they found 30-year-old Didier Dario-Cabieles, of Lake Charles, dead inside the home.

According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, detectives learned Didier was intoxicated and was causing a disturbance at the home the night before. They were told a family member, 25-year-old Erixon Aguilar-Cabieles, of Lake Charles, had bound Didier’s wrists and ankles with a cable wire and left him face down in the bed, leaving him immobilized and unable to care for himself, the spokesperson says.

Didier was found unresponsive several hours later by family members., which is when they called 911.

Erixon was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center with negligent homicide. His bond is still pending.

The cause of death is pending the coroner’s investigation.
