A Lake Charles man wanted by Texas police for a bank robbery is in custody.
On Thursday, Louisiana State Police were contacted by the Orange Police Department about 44-year-old James Spikes’ alleged involvement in a bank robbery in Orange, Texas.
Through further investigation, troopers determined Spikes matched the description of the suspect in the bank robbery, according to a state police spokesman.
On Friday, investigators from both agencies located Spikes at home in Lake Charles.
During questioning, Spikes allegedly admitted to committing the robbery and turned evidence of the crime over to detectives, including the disguise he wore during the robbery.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Texas.
