CALCASIEU PARISH – (PRESS RELEASE) Alligator Park is now closed due to flooding. According to the National Weather Service, significant flooding is expected along portions of the Sabine and Calcasieu rivers.
Calcasieu Parish Police Jury staff will continue to monitor the condition of the park. It will reopen when floodwaters recede and cleanup is complete. At this time, the park is expected to reopen Monday, Jan. 14.
The park, located off LA 109 near the Sabine River, was damaged by flooding in 2016 and 2017. It reopened in August of 2018.
At this time, no other parks are expected to close.
