A Moss Bluff man is dead after being hit on a crosswalk in Lake Charles Thursday morning.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m., Glenn Broussard, 53, was crossing 3rd Avenue when he was hit by a truck traveling southbound on the street, according to a spokesman for the Lake Charles Police Department.
Broussard was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died today.
The driver of the truck was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and driving under suspension.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, the spokesman says.
The Lake Charles Police Department Traffic Division was notified about the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
