SOWELA Technical Community College and Cheniere Energy announced an Apprenticeship Program today.
Officials from SOWELA Technical Community College and Cheniere Energy held a joint press conference this morning to announce that the company has donated $250,000 to the college and is offering an apprenticeship program.
The apprenticeship program provides Process Technology and Industrial Instrumentation Technology students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their respective fields. The donation will be used to purchase a skid for SOWELA’s new Center for Industrial and Process Technology.
“The close ties that exist between SOWELA and our business/industry partners is one of the keys to our college’s success,” said SOWELA Chancellor Dr. Neil Aspinwall. “Cheniere’s partnership, commitment, and investment in SOWELA is an excellent example of how industry and education can work together to help produce a quality workforce and a stronger economy for Southwest Louisiana and the nation.”
