An Oakdale man is dead following a crash Sunday in Vinton.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday, November 18 at around 11:45 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Navajo Trail in Vinton in reference to a one-vehicle crash.
The driver, 34-year-old Richard Hammer of Oakdale, was traveling eastbound on Navajo Trail when his car left the roadway and impacted with a culvert. Investigators say the car flipped, ejecting the driver.
Hammer was pronounced dead at the scene. Hammer was the only person in the car.
