UPDATE: Calcasieu Parish deputies have added more charges to a woman booked after police found her driving around Lake Charles with a dead body in the trunk.

Sarah Parker, 24, was initially booked with obstruction of justice and failure to report a homicide. She’s now also been booked with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. When she and her alleged boyfriend, Logan Kyle, were arrested when the body of Kyle’s wife, Shelena, 22, was found in Parker’s trunk, Parker’s two children were in the car with them.

Last week, Fort Polk Public Affairs identified Shelena Kyle as the victim.  Kyle allegedly confessed to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies that he killed his wife on base. Army CID is now investigating the death, and has not released any information on it.

Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso held a press conference to provide details of his agency’s investigation. To read those details, click here.

Kyle is with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, a release from Fort Polk Public Affairs states.

Shelena Kyle is identified as “a 3rd Brigade Combat Team Family member,” and Col. Kendall J. Clarke, brigade commander, expressed the unit’s sympathies.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of this Patriot Family member. She was a member of our Family and her death affects us all. We send our most sincere condolences to her Family and friends.”

Kyle joined the Army four years ago, and was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Polk in February, 2017, where he served as an infantry fire team leader.
