Lake Charles school employee accused of raping disabled student

Police say they have arrested a Lake Charles school employee, accused of raping an infirmed student.

Police say that on Monday, October 1, 2018, members of the Louisiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit contacted the Lake Charles Police Department to request in locating and apprehending a wanted person.  The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Willie Stevens of Lake Charles was wanted for first-degree rape.

This charge stemmed from an investigation following the alleged rape of an infirmed student, while Stevens was employed at Robinswood School in Lake Charles. Robinswood is a school for the developmentally disabled, according to police. 

Stevens was located and arrested at his home located at North 1st Avenue. He was transported to the Lake Charles Police Department Detective Division where he as interviewed by investigators of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. 

He was then transported to Calcasieu Correction Center on a $100,000 bond.
