A Broussard company is offering free fuel on Monday to Cameron Parish residents recovering from Hurricane Laura.

The Cameron Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness says that Macro Companies Inc. will distribute free gasoline and diesel fuel from 10 am until 2 pm at the Creole Fire Station.

Macro Companies says that it deployed several hundred personnel and fuel trucks to southwest Louisiana to help in recovery efforts.

Fuel has been distributed to local utility companies and to support the Louisiana Department of Agriculture's emergency fuel contract. The contract provides fuel to Search and Rescue, First Responders, State Agencies and critical infrastructure generators, the company says.

The fuel will be available to residents on September 28 while supplies last.
