On Wednesday, several law enforcement agencies in Acadiana announced phone line outages.
After looking into the issue we reached out to AT&T who says that calls were disrupted between mobile phone and landlines to customers in the Lafayette area. Viewers stated that the issues were as far spread as St. Landry and St. Mary Parishes.
"We have resolved an issue that disrupted calls between mobile phones and landlines today in the Lafayette area. We apologize for the inconvenience," AT&T said in a statement Monday evening.
This disruption, the say, only lasted a couple of hours and affected a small number of customers. By this afternoon many agencies, including Church Point Police Department, that reported downed lines had announced phones were working again.
The cause, according to AT&T was due to ongoing maintenance in the area.
