LAKE CHARLES, La. – The American Job Center announced today the Summer Quarterly Job Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, July 10 at the Lake Charles Civic Center’s Exhibition Hall.
Job seekers are required to wear business attire and to bring a picture ID and several copies of their current resume. Make sure to arrive early to ensure the opportunity to meet with employers.
Employers are invited to take part in the job fair. To register, contact the American Job Center at 337-721-4010. Deadline to register is Wednesday, July 3. There is no cost for employers to participate.
Veterans, who will be given priority services, are asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m. for exclusive access to employers until 9 a.m.
For those who want help preparing for the job fair, there will be a Job Readiness Workshop at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at the American Job Center, 2424 Third St. in Lake Charles. Participants will learn the dos and don’ts of looking for a job, programs and services to assist in job searches, interview tips and information on available job opportunities.
Pre-registration is requested for the workshop, but not for the job fair.
The job fair is sponsored by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, in conjunction with the Workforce Development Board and the Louisiana Workforce Commission. It is funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
