A longtime music teacher in Acadia Parish is retiring.
Banks Pruitt a teacher in Crowley and head of the Talented Program for the parish presented his final concert.
The 2019 Acadia Parish Talented Musicians’ Spring Concert took place at Forest Park Church in Crowley on Tuesday. There, students performed various pieces for those gathered in the audience. The concert contained both vocal and instrumental performances
Pruitt’s students say he has made learning music easy, breaking down even the toughest of pieces.
“Our teacher, he’s amazing. He breaks things down for us and we can learn difficult pieces that some kids are having trouble with in college very easily,” student Madison Scanlen said.
