A man was shot this morning in Iota, Police Chief Damon Daigle said.
Johnny Soulieu, 24, of Iota was booked with attempted first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. His bond has been set at $300,000.
He’s accused of shooting a 28-year-old Eunice man who is the father of his girlfriend’s children, police said. The men were arguing, and Soulieu shot the other man, then ran away, police say. The victim, who was shot in the arm, was transported to a local hospital via personal vehicle and is listed in stable condition.
Soulieu turned himself in about an hour after the incident, police said.
