The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office says that the victim in a Branch homicide over the weekend has been identified and the search for a suspect involved continues .

The victim of the shooting is being identified as 32-year-old Matthew Mark Briscoe of Church Point.

APSO is still looking for a woman, 34-year-old Tyla Meche of Church Point in connection with the homicide. Another person, Kirvee Woodard, 38, of Church Point was arrested Sunday morning following a search in Branch.

Sheriff’s deputies say that Meche, Woodard, and Briscoe were traveling in a vehicle in the Branch area Sunday morning. During an argument, one of the occupant allegedly shot Briscoe.
