One man arrested in “big lick” drug bust

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested one man and seized a variety of drugs today after executing a search warrant at a house on Barbara Drive.

Acadia Sheriff KP Gibson described the bust as a “big lick.”

Deputies seized 80 grams of methamphetamine, 295 grams of Marijuana, 14 Hydrocodone pills, 43 Alprazolam pills, 7 Clonazepmam pills and over 100 assorted items dipped in THC. Also recovered were 2 digital scales, 2 grinders and packaging materials. More than $7,000 in currency and money orders was seized as well, Gibson states.

“During this search, deputies recovered roughly 50 vape pens of assorted flavors and 31 bags of a fruit cereal, which both were coated with THC. These items, especially the vape pens, are known to be popular with teenagers and young adults. These items have been taken off the streets before it reached out youth,” Gibson said.

Adams was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
