House fire donations exceed capacity

UPDATE: Donations for a family in Rayne that lost their house and belongings in a fire last Sunday have exceeded capacity.

The house where donations were being dropped off doesn’t have any more room, and the Hamlin family doesn’t have a place to store the donations yet.

A Rayne family is mourning the loss of their family pets after a house January 13.

The Hamlin family lost their home near the intersection of West Branch and Live Oak streets and all their possessions, as well as their two dogs.

They have three children, and the entire family is in need of donations for clothing and personal and household supplies.

Here are the family’s sizes:

Adult male: size large shirt, size 36 pants, size 12 shoes

Adult female: size medium shirt, size 10 or 29 pants, size 10 shoes

Teen boy: size large shirt, size 34-36 shorts, size 12 shoes

Preteen boy: size 8 boys shirt, size 8 boys shorts, size 13-1 shoes

Toddler girl: size 18 months clothes, size 4 diapers

Donations may be dropped off at 908 Olga St in Rayne. All items can be left on the carport and will go directly to family.
