You may soon notice some changes in Rayne as crews work on upgrades throughout the city.
The city received a grant of about $24,000 from the local government assistance program.
That money will be put towards a $70,000 sidewalk project that stretches from the police station to I-10.
“It made our city go from looking like a rural community to more like a warm setting with sidewalks where the disabled and elderly can use sidewalks instead of walking on the edge of the road to get to the local businesses,” said Mayor Chuck Robicheaux.
