DTA kicks off tomorrow with GIVERS and Michot’s Melody Makers

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Downtown Alive (DTA) Spring 2019 concert series kicks off on Friday, March 8 with GIVERS and Michot’s Melody Makers at Parc International in Downtown Lafayette.

This free event features a variety of genres including rock, Cajun, Zydeco, funk, soul and more.

Music starts at 6:00 pm with psych-Cajun group Michot’s Melody Makers-led by Louis Michot
of 2018 Grammy award-winning group, Lost Bayou Ramblers, followed by Lafayette’s own
indie-pop hit group, GIVERS.

DTA is the longest running outdoor concert series in Louisiana, according to concert organizers.

Here’s the 2019 Schedule:

March 8 – GIVERS with Michot’s Melody Makers (indie pop/psych cajun– Parc International)

March 15 – Tribute to Rockin’ Dopsie, Sr ft. Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers with special guests Tiger, Anthony & Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr.  (Zydeco – Parc Sans Souci)

March 22 – Yvette Landry & the Jukes  (honky tonk/folk – Parc International)

March 29 – The Viatones, The Amazing Nuns, and Carbon Poppies (psych rock/indie pop – Parc International)

April 5 – Mia Borders (soul/rhythm & blues – Parc Sans Souci)

April 12 – Steve Adams, Lance Dubroc & the 504 Horns (swamp pop/rock – Parc International)

May 10 – George Porter, Jr. and the Runnin’ Pardners (funk/soul – Parc International)

May 17 – Honey Island Swamp Band (southern rock/blues – Parc International)
